Perhaps you need to adjust your thinking about what the word “budget” means in relationship to a hotel in the big apple. Manhattan is one of the world’s most crowded modern cities in the world. There’s only so much space to build on, and so real estate and real estate taxes and utilities are expensive. Look at spending about two hundred dollars for a typical budget New York City hotel room. If you’re budget can’t handle that, look a little further out of the city. There are plenty of brand name hotels around the Newark New Jersey airport just across the river, and public transportation to NYC is plentiful and affordable.
