Is it possible to take advantage of holiday cancellations when planning your own if you’re not self-employed, but work at a regular, 9 to 5 sort of job? It depends. You have to consider that a lot of jobs require that you submit requests for time off at least a month in advance, and most cancellation holidays begin within a week of booking. So, if you have to make the arrangements for days off at work a month ahead of time, booking a cancellation holiday might be a bit like spinning the wheel of fortune, though it could work. However, you might be better off trying a simple weekend getaway first.
