The business of online dating services is enormous and growing year by year.  Many millions of dollars are spent by Americans to find a mate, or at least make friends they may not be able to find locally.

With your personal computer, a good online dating service, and some free time, you can find the love of your  life… or maybe a new friend to exchange e-mails with.  Some of these services offer chat rooms, web cams, and message boards.  But the main ingredient is chemistry.  When you begin chatting with someone, and they appeal to you by the way they talk, and then you compare likes and dislikes, problems or pet peeves, hobbies, anything you wish to talk about, you can become emotionally attached to them in ways you will never understand, yet love the contact and never want to lose them as friends or  more.
