Where Do You Go to Get Refinancing for a Car?

I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra that has higher payments than I can afford right now. My friend Jonathan told me that he got refinanced through the company that originally gave him his car loan and that it wasn’t that hard.
He said that if you just call them up and tell them what you need that they will help you out.
I guess it’s better for them to be able to keep the business and not make as much money than to have to lose the business altogether. That would make sense to me. Maybe I can get a good deal and actually obtain bad credit car loan refinancing without that much trouble.
