Guidelines for a Diet for Gastritis

5:57 am Health

People who have gastritis know that it is a painful and unpleasant experience. In order to prevent or lessen the effects of gastritis, those with the illness should take care to follow an effective diet for gastritis. Sufferers should start by eating bland foods (nothing too spicy). In order to test their personal limitations, they can slowly add other foods back into their diet until the symptoms return. This way, they can be sure which foods they should avoid and which they can still eat. Keeping a food diary in which the patient tracks types of foods and reactions to foods can be helpful. In general, patients with gastritis should avoid consuming too much dairy, and should make sure to eat enough fiber.
